APRIL : Observational Drawing 101

Date: April 1st (Easter Monday) + April 14th (Sunday)
Time: 2pm - 5pm (both days)

Class size: Capped at 10
Location: In my Kensington, Brooklyn studio. A block and a half from MS839. About a 10 min walk from F/G or B/Q. On East 7th Street between Church and Beverly.
*This program is a pre-requisite for my other portfolio programs: Portfolio 1 (Still Life), Portfolio 2 (Self Portraits), Portfolio 3 (Figure Drawing and Fantastical Sandwich).
In Observational Drawing 101 Intensive artists learn the core skill required for high school art portfolios : observational drawing. This class is for artists preparing a portfolio for art high schools or who simply want to learn to draw realistically. In this six hour workshop (broken up into two days of three hours each) they will learn: 1. The difference between drawing from memory, imagination and observation. 2. How to see and draw reference materials more accurately. 3. The fundamentals of drawing from life, 4. How to work with their body mechanics to make confident lines and shade drawings in layers. 5. Learn a skill that will enrich their lives for years to come and help build winning portfolios.
