Open to 7th & 8th graders
In this program I will work with artists where they are at. If your artist has already begun the process or is not in the 8th grade, I will work with them according to the skills and pieces they have developed. If your artist is just starting the portfolio process and needs to turn it in by the December 1st deadline, I will help them to develop the observational drawing skills needed and begin all four required pieces (Figure, Still Life, Self Portrait, Fantastical Sandwich) as quickly as possible.
They will have to do a substantial amount of work outside of class to complete their pieces. And keep in mind that they will need three additional pieces that are in a medium and subject of their choosing for a total of eight pieces. I will do my best to help them figure out what to do for these pieces as well, but we may not get to work on them in class.
My entire portfolio program is usually about 22 classes, I am compressing it into seven. If they are highly motivated it is still possible to complete the pieces. I just won't be overseeing every step of the process.
